Marshall Investments (MI) has been operating since 1995 when John Marshall created a separate vehicle for his property and investment activities.
Since 1995 MI has developed into a diversified investment company with a small team of professionals. Activities include private and public company investments, property development and management of MI's own property investment portfolio. In June 2004 MI received a wholesale dealer’s licence from ASIC, permitting the company to offer syndications.
Marshall Investments also manages John's majority interest in Apparel Group, a company he joined 35 years ago. Apparel Group is a diverse retail and private label business with offices in Sydney, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Serving leading retailers in Australia and New Zealand, Apparel Group designs, markets and supplies a large range of fashionable garments with an emphasis on style, innovation and quality. The total focus is on customers and the supply chain.
In 2000 The Apparel Group purchased the Sportscraft brand which now operates in more than 154 locations throughout Australia in David Jones, Myer and freestanding stores. The SABA brand was purchased in June 2005 and has 62 stores.
