John Marshall founded Marshall Investments in 1995. John currently serves as Chairman of Marshall Investments and APG & Co, the home of iconic retail brands Sportscraft, Saba and JAG. John founded Marshall Investments with a vision of creating investment value. Today Marshall Investments is a premium investment company with a dynamic portfolio of risk-weighted investments across multiple asset classes. John is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization – a global chief executive leadership group spanning 130 countries.
KAREN PENROSE
Deputy Chair
Karen Penrose joined the Marshall Investments Board in December 2013 and assumed the role of a full-time Director in 2014. Karen is also on the Boards of Cochlear, Bank of Queensland, Ramsay Health Care, NSW Waratahs Limited and Waratahs Rugby Limited.
Karen’s executive career was in leadership and CFO roles, mainly in financial services. Karen is a CPA, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of Chief Executive Women (CEW).
MICHAEL COOK
Non-Executive Director
Michael Cook joined the Marshall Investments Board in 2019 and assumed the role of Non-Executive Director. Michael is the Vice Chairman of Global Investment Banking, RBC Capital Markets Australia and serves as a senior ambassador of RBC Capital Markets, working closely with the investment banking team to build relationships with clients in Australia. Michael’s executive career was with Macquarie Group and Bankers Trust. During his time at Macquarie, Michael was appointed Head of Corporate Advisory and Co-Head of Corporate Finance.
DAVID MARSHALL
Managing Director
David Marshall joined Marshall Investments in 2002 as Managing Director. David is responsible for spearheading and implementing the group’s vision, assessing co-investment opportunities, and supporting a culture of excellence. David has significantly grown the Marshall Investments business in his time as Managing Director doubling the number of investments and expanding the group’s verticals into growth debt and private equity. David established the property capital partners business in 2010 and the Growth Debt business in 2018. Prior to his role as Managing Director, David worked across several of the group’s verticals including property management and development as well as business development. Before Marshall Investments, David worked in various roles for a number of internet and information technology companies. David is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization – a global chief executive leadership group spanning 130 countries.
ANDREW MARTIN
Executive Director
Andrew Martin joined Marshall Investments in 2004. Andrew is responsible for promoting, monitoring and assessing deal flow in all areas, overseeing the management of the portfolio and overseeing financial and risk management for Marshall Investments and related group entities. Prior to Marshall Investments, Andrew worked for 17 years in financial services where he held several positions, including being a CFO, in Corporate Treasury, structured finance, and property finance. Throughout this time, he worked at several firms including PwC Australia, Lend Lease, Investa Property Group and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
ANDREW CONDON
General Manager Finance
Andrew Condon joined Marshall Investments in March 2022 as a Financial Controller and is responsible for managing all aspects of the Group’s finance and accounting operations. Andrew began his career with Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) and since leaving has held finance roles across both listed and unlisted businesses, both in Australia and the UK. Previous roles include CFO of Mad Mex Franchising Pty Ltd, Group Financial Controller of APG & Co Pty Ltd, and Financial Controller at Currys PLC (UK). Andrew has a Bachelor of Applied Finance and a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University, is a Certified Chartered Accountant (‘CA’) and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
ANTHONY CAY
Equities Manager
Anthony joined Marshall Investments in October 2022 as Equities Manager. Anthony has 23+ years working in equities research and investing, including 7+ years running a $3b large cap equities fund. Almost all that experience was gained working at Perpetual Investments.
TIM CAMPBELL
General Manager Property
Tim Campbell joined Marshall Investments in 2017 as a Property Portfolio Manager. Tim is responsible for managing the direct property portfolio, new property developments and family projects. He also provides advice and guidance on the risks and opportunities for the projects in the Property Capital Partners portfolio. Prior to Marshall Investments, Tim was a Director with Currie & Brown, responsible for the management and operations of their NSW business. Tim holds a degree in Construction Management Masters and an MBA and is a member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and the Australian Institute of Building.

General Manager Growth Credit
Daniel Neilson joined Marshall Investments in 2020 as an Investment Manager. Daniel is responsible for originating and managing investments in the Growth Capital business. Prior to Marshall Investments, Daniel was a manager in Ernst & Young’s Corporate Finance team in London where he worked on numerous M&A, equity and debt transactions. Daniel is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Applied Finance.

Investment Manager
Liam Demaine joined Marshall Investments in 2021 as an Investment Analyst. Liam is responsible for the analysis of new opportunities and managing the current Property Capital Partners portfolio. Prior to Marshall Investments, Liam was an Analyst at Mirvac in Sydney, where he was responsible for analysis and reporting for the residential business. Liam holds a Bachelor of Economics.

Anthony Proud joined Marshall Investments in 2022 as an Investment Manager. Anthony is responsible for originating and managing investments in the Growth Capital business. Prior to Marshall Investments, Anthony was an Associate Director at KPMG with over 10 years’ experience in Transaction Services and Corporate Development. Anthony is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Daniela Lagos joined Marshall Investments in May 2009 as an Executive Assistant. Daniela works directly with the Managing Director David Marshall, providing executive support, anticipating needs whilst managing the day to day workflow and prioritising various projects. Daniela works alongside David to ensure the strategic milestones of the business are met. Prior to Marshall Investments, Daniela was a licensed real estate agent working for a prominent Sydney agency and has a Diploma in Property.

Renata Orlovic joined Marshall Investments in 2023 as Business Manager and Executive Assistant supporting the Chairman, John Marshall. Renata coordinates and manages the Chairman’s family investment office and Business interests and assists with decision making to ensure alignment of the company’s strategic goals. Prior to joining Marshall Investments, Renata worked within government and financial markets.

Office Manager & Executive Assistant
Charlotte Brett joined Marshall Investments in June 2023 as Office Manager & Executive Assistant. Charlotte works with the Executive Director and Investment Director providing administrative support, whilst managing the operations of the office and team, ensuring the business remains efficient and effective. Additionally, Charlotte maintains and manages the groups Investor Relations, being the first point of contact for any investor enquiries. Prior to Marshall Investments, Charlotte has worked in various administrative roles across Financial Services, Property and Construction industries and has a Diploma in Marketing.
ZARA GRIFFIN
Company Accountant
Zara Griffin joined Marshall Investments in September 2023 as Company Accountant. Zara attends to the day-to-day record keeping including accounts and payroll for the firm. Prior to Marshall Investments, Zara was working as a tax accountant in the public practice sector for 23 years, before that having been in various administration roles. Zara has a Diploma of Accounting.
